What makes the sign sustainable?
During the production of a durable carrier, standard road signs are only mechanically treated by the use of an aluminium coil coating. The base is a pre-painted plate of aluminium, therefore, the signs retain their colour on the back of the signs.
By using coal coating, there is no need for an individual cleaning process. Because no cleaning process takes place, there is no emission of harmful vapours, no discharge of waste water, no chemical waste (remains of paint and filters), no unnecessary residual waste and zero loss of aluminium due to standardization of road sign formats. Besides all of the previously mentioned points, it also saves in energy and water consumption.
Instead of a screen printing technique a digitally printing technique is used which ensures that there is a durable image displayed on the sign. The special digital printing technique is far less damaging for the environment than silkscreen printing and other printing forms.
The special digital printing technique is characterised because of its use of inks without any solvent. Moreover, it has a very high protection level by removing the UV-resistant laminate and its dirt and glue remains are very easily removable without affecting the image of the sign. The foil is more scratch resistant than existing materials, therefore any third parties are unable to remove or modify the text on the signs. The smooth surface ensures a cleaner sign and algae growth or other forms of dirt can attach less easily onto the sign.
