Both the placement of the signs and the commissioning went very smoothly. As far as Compass is concerned, this was a successful collaboration!”
Delivered products
In total we have developed, produced and installed eight Cradle-to-Cradle mast signs consisting of four large, and four small ones, plus five extra Cradle-to-Cradle signs, which are placed on top of the other signs (“Ruiters”). The four mast signs for the A-roads (largest size is 6,5m wide and 6,9m high with a text display of 6,5m wide and 1,6m high) and the four mast signs for the N-roads (3,5m wide and 2,7m high with a text display of 3,5m wide and 0,75m high) are equipped with multiple VVX displays. The extra small signs (“Ruiters”) are placed in connection with the replacement of the previous P + R signs.
Both the placement of the signs and the commissioning, went very smoothly. As far as Compass is concerned, this was a successful collaboration!

Particularities of the project
The project is a follow-up of the successful project ‘P + R Rotterdam and S-numbering’ where we developed, produced and delivered new P + R signage and S-numbering in Rotterdam in order for the road users to be aware of the available parking spaces at the designated P + R location. Within this project, there has been a close collaboration with many stakeholders. For example, there was intensive cooperation with VDL, so that the development of the interface between the sign and the mast was perfectly adjusted. Furthermore, an extensive Factory Acceptence Test (FAT) has taken place, in which the signs are connected to the traffic centre in Rotterdam. This has been done in order for the complete collection of data to be tested. A full chain test has been performed. Because of this, the signs were up for use immediately after the installation and connection with the connectors.
