Inquiry made by client
The development, production, delivery and installation of new P + R signage and S-numbering (City Routes) in Rotterdam
Why did our client choose AGMI Traffic & Lighting?
AGMI Traffic & Lighting has been approached by the municipality of Rotterdam as head contractor to supply all of the static signage panels and install the VVX-displays in them.
Course of the project
Stephen Jansen, Traffic planner of the city of Rotterdam; “The project went in good mutual coordination. The municipality of Rotterdam had imposed extra requirements on the serial uniformity of the panel designs. Within the new design, AGMI had to take into account that the signage had to meet the construction-technical aspects and the functional technical requirements.”
Delivered products
AGMI has deliverd 45 portal signs, 12 mast signs, 15 road signs, 15 background shields, 81 strips of foil, 8 extra small signs (“ruiters”) and 12 masts. 11 of the 45 portal signs have been equipped as service boards, including a digital VVX-display. 10 of the 12 mast boards have been equipped as a service board including a digital VVX-display, 4 of which have a dual digital VVX-display.
The project went in good mutual coordination. We are satisfied with the project’s outcome.

Particularities project
In addition to the entire delivery, replacement, installation and/or removal of the static signage, a total of 21 dynamic locations with 25 digital VVX displays have been installed.
The municipality of Rotterdam has purchased 50 digital VVX-displays, which were produced by Solari in Italy. For this project, 25 digital VVX-displays have been integrated into the portal signage and mast signage for the 21 P + R (Park-and-Ride) locations in Rotterdam. By doing so, road users will be informed of the amount of vacant park spaces at all times.
SPIE Infra has ensured a proper installation and integration of all the displays, AGMI had built in all of the VVX displays behind the signs and Heijmans has put the signs up, on-site, onto the masts or portals. The remaining tasks, which had been conducted by SPIE Infra were, the delivery and placement of control points for the VVX displays, realizing all of the permits and supplying the energy supply points with energy. This has been done with the consultation of Steding. The municipality of Rotterdam and MobiMaestro tested and yielded all of the displays.
This project had been realised by many companies closely working together. It was a very large project. The ultimate goal was to make sure our client would be satisfied with the final result.
